Y’all! Today Jaidyn is officially 17!

No long post this year but I’m simply lost for words. This years has been the most transformative year for Jaidyn (and our family) to date and it’s been a WILD ride getting to here but I’m so thankful to have a front row view of this beautiful chapter in Jaidyns life.

Here’s to the many more laughs, lessons and special moments filled loving and being loved by you. Happy JaiDay, baby girl!

On March 1st, I opened this series by sharing my heart passion of creating spaces for women to celebrate, collaborate and connect with one another to create meaningful relationships. Well… for today, I’m circling to end the month and tell how this mission has been one on my heart since 2017!

Fast forward to today and I’m thankful for leaning in and taking my “next step” which has led me to these amazing 31 days.

And to illustrate, I want to celebrate my dear friend and sister, Chelsea Rowel.

There’s so many things that can be said about Chelsea but simply put she lived a life so full of love and light that radiated despite her hardest days. So many people’s lives have been impacted by Chelsea’s huge heart and her genuine walk in her purpose – most of all, her beautiful daughters, fiancé, family, coaching clients, and countless friends.

Ya’ll this video was rough to record, but I would be remiss not to share the impact we all make as women and encourage us to walk in our purpose – because someone needs your light and love.

Racquel is a baddie! She is an amazing wife, mom, sister, friend, worship leader and one of the THE BEST strategist I’ve ever met. But for all her gifts, she has a passion to love on women and create a safe and welcoming space specifically for moms despite their season of motherhood.

Today is also the last day of #worlddoulaweek and I wanted to give a space to highlight my friend, Lauren Whitmore and how she found her passion to be a doula through her own experience of motherhood.

During Lauren’s pregnancy of her first child, she realized that she, much like far too many women, longed for emotional, physical and educational support needed to make informed decision to not only navigate her journey albut most importantly ensure her desires, emotions and overall well being was prioritized.

Ultimately, this sparked her passion to become a doula herself and she is supporting women in DFW through her company Dox The Doula.

When I had Jaidyn yeeeaaarsss ago, I wish I had Lauren by my side but here’s to sharing the connection with others!

Ladies, meet Quortni Hunt - she is a licensed cosmetologist and owner of the @theqrwndnatural - specializing in natural hair. In addition to making women fall in love and wear their CROWN like the queen you are. 🙌🏾 She also has the God-given ability to make women look and FEEL beautiful inside and out.

I’ve known Quortni for 10+ years and it’s been a pleasure to see her evolve and courageously pursue projects she’s passionate about - from her org Operation Glam, singing, and wardrobe styling to cosmetics - she definitely has more than one feather in her hat.

Earlier this week, we had a chance to work together on a project and she reminded me of three important things
✨light only amplifies light - collaboration allows us to strengthen and sharpen each other
✨ someone NEEDS your unique gift for them to succeed
✨ creativity is an ever-evolving journey - share your heart with other women and support each other along the way

Happy #WomensHistoryMonth. It's March 8th which means it's also #InternationalWomensDay and I want to celebrate by recognizing the most IMPACTFUL women in my life that have contributed to the woman I am today - my mom and daughter.

TRIBUTE TO MY DAUGHTER:
Baby girl, I don’t even think I have the right words but when I think about the woman I am today and the (girl) I was when I had you at 16 - I’m so thankful for redemption.

I’m so many ways, we’ve literally grown up together - me raising you and you raising me. Learning. Unlearning. And relearning how to show up for each other, where to give grace, milestones and fun memories, boundaries, lots of tears and even more joy!

Jaidyn, thank you for being the fun, free spirited, VERY vocal and even more loving person you are - you give me daily reminders of the best parts of life. Proud is an understatement. I can’t wait to see you continue to evolve into the #phenomenalwoman you’re created to be!

TRIBUTE TO MY MOM:
My mom is the most steadfast person in my life and practices love through acts of service. Growing up I didn’t appreciate that, which lead to years of misunderstanding and thinking she wasn’t able to “show up” in ways I needed because my love is best expressed and received through words.

But I’ll never forget what she said when we found out Jaidyn was on the way, “Olivia you are not alone and I’m here to give you want you need to get to the next season in life because your story does not end here”. (Tears)

Fast-forward to today and simply put, who I am today is only because of the phenomenal wife, mother, sister, friend and prayer warrior you are and the pouring into my life.

Mom, you carry the heaviness of life with so much grace, have a heart that’s wide open and your ability to show compassion to others is unmatched. You LITERALLY have never met a stranger and a faithful friend.

Thank for showing me how much love, character, integrity …and a little grit can change a situation more than imagined.

Your love has contributed and directly impacted the best parts of me.
